Gloriosa Carsonii

Gloriosa carsonii is an exotic, tuberous climbing vine featuring striking mahogany-purple and lemon-yellow reflexed petals.

Plant Overview
  • Flowers: Unique two-tone colors with wavy edges and forward-reaching stamens, blooming from summer to fall.

Care and Cultivation

  • Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade, ideally with protection from harsh afternoon heat.

  • Soil: Requires rich, organically amended, well-draining soil with medium moisture. Avoid overwatering, which rots the tubers.

  • Planting: Plant tubers horizontally or carefully tilted about 3 inches deep in spring after frost risk passes

Gloriosa Rothschildiana

Gloriosa rothschildiana (commonly known as the Flame Lily or Glory Lily) is a striking, fast-growing deciduous climber celebrated for its dramatic, exotic blooms. Though widely referred to as a lily, it actually belongs to the Colchicaceae family. Named in honour of Baron Rothschild, who introduced the flower to Europe from Africa, this tropical climber features unique wavy-edged crimson petals with brilliant yellow bases that reflex backward to reveal prominent, protruding stamens.
